    MsX, PgDip

    Clinical Sexologist

Emily is Ireland's leading clinical sexologist and is an accredited psychosexual therapist and art psychotherapist. She is an accredited member of the College of Sex and Relationship Therapists (COSRT), and Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists (IACAT), and adheres to their professional codes of ethics. Emily has worked both in the public and private sectors for over 20 years, with a thriving private practice for the last 12 years providing specialised care for those seeking support around sexual and relationship challenges.

Emily's pioneering approach to her work is inclusive, evidence based and non-shaming. Her sex positive attitude means that her focus is always on your safety, consent and pleasure rather than your age, looks, ability or sexual practices, for example.

Emily has trained in many modalities including EFT, CEFT, EMDR, Adult Attachment and is trauma informed. She is client centred meaning she will endeavour to meet her clients where they are at, with compassion, openness, non-judgment and humour. Emily has a relaxed, informed and flexible approach that will help you to feel comfortable to discuss any issues you're having or any questions you might have.

Some of the most common sexual issues Emily works with are erectile problems, rapid ejaculation, delayed or no ejaculation, sexual pain, performance anxiety, low confidence, low desire. The most common relationship issues Emily sees are loss of connection and intimacy and poor communication. However, Emily is open to, and has worked with a vast variety of challenges and welcomes any and all people to her clinic. Sometimes people just want a bit of upskilling or education around how to improve sexual pleasure, or how to introduce adventure or newness to an already satisfying sex life.

Emily can work with you individually to help improve your understanding of your own body and pathways to pleasure, and she also provides a space for partners, and couples who may need a bit of support to find their way back to each other. For example, if a man recovers his sexual functioning, that's often only the first step to recovery of the relationship. His partner may need some help to voice their own needs, concerns and blocks. It's very common for the partner of a person with sexual challenges to develop their own insecurities or fears around being sexual again.

It's usual for our tastes, desires and interests change and develop as we age and this includes our sexual lives. Whether we've experienced sexual challenges or not, learning what we need for arousal and then how to meet new needs is an important part of any long-term relationship. Partners with wombs will also go through their own challenges with hormone health and aging and Emily can provide support to ensure they are also getting the help they need to have enjoyable sexual encounters.

Emily doesn't just work with couples and welcomes single people, non-monogamous people, kinksters and members of the LGBTQI+ community. Everyone is welcome because everyone deserves the sex-life they want, no matter what that looks like. There is no "right" way to be sexual and no "right" amount of sexual activity. With Emily's help, you can discover what you want, and how to negotiate lovingly with others for your needs to be met, whether you have high, low or no desire to be sexual.
